We are
looking for a UI Graphic Designer to join the MeeGo UX design team in
Helsinki, Finland designing the new direct manipulation UI for Nokia's
devices. You will be part of a team responsible for creating a
world-class visual UI style. Working with other graphic designers,
interaction designers and usability specialists, you will take part in
planning and delivering high-quality design in static and motion
graphics, layout design, icon and symbol design, and design for
transitions and animations. In addition, this role includes visual
design for internal presentations and Flash prototyping. We expect you
to be a confident team player capable of contributing to a high-quality
output through an agile and hands-on process.
To make the most of this opportunity, you are a seasoned designer of
visual user interfaces with 3 - 6 years of experience (6+ years for
Senior Graphic Designer position) in visual design, information design,
metaphor design and layout design. You are thoroughly familiar with
design tools, especially Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop, and you also
have experience in information design, interaction design and user
interface design. You have a good eye for detail without losing sight of
the big picture. Your toolbox of skills also includes written and
spoken design documentation and communication and fluent written and
spoken English.
We will consider it an advantage if you have some level of skill in
physical interaction design, haptics, design for touchscreens, font
design, light and illumination design, sound design, web design,
prototyping and PC GUI design. Knowledge of web 2.0 technologies,
widgets, localization and internationalization will also be appreciated.
In addition to a degree in a relevant field, for example in visual
design, you have several years' experience in digital UI design
(preferably within the mobile industry), and your portfolio shows your
high quality work. An innovative, open-minded, and adaptable team
