Subjects eligible for entry are product design, communication design and design development.
The production status should allow the Good Design Award announcement date of October 3, 2011. The product must be available for purchase or usage by individuals no later than March 31, 2012. If a public release cannot be made on the awards announcement date, then the release date can be extended up until December 31, 2011. The product is not necessarily available for purchase or usage in Japan.
