Grafia's Activities

Grafia promotes Finnish visual communication design and advocates for the interests of Grafia members. The most common professional title for Grafia members is graphic designer, but our members cover the entire field of visual communication and creative design.

Activities:

Grafia offers its members a professional community, advice and legal assistance.

  • Vuoden Huiput – The Best of Finnish Creative Design competition since 1980
  • Huiput Creative Festival
  • organises other small and big events and courses
  • allocates annually over €100,000 of copyright remunerations as grants
  • publishes the Grafia magazine highlighting important industry phenomena and people and weekly newsletter for members
  • Graphic Designer of the Year award
  • Rudolf Koivu prize every second year (10 000 €)
  • publishes an annual industry study
  • promotes better ways to acquire and buy design
  • operates in international networks
  • co-operation with Mikkeli Illustration Triennial and Lahti International Poster Triennial

Board

The associations operations are directed by a board of nine members that are selected during the autumn meeting. The board has a meeting once a month.
